Wizard's Top 100 Paperback: Round 2
by Emily
96. The Complete Concrete* by Paul Chadwick
The eponymous central character is a normal man whose brain was transplanted into a large, stone body by aliens, and who lives an extraordinary life on Earth following his escape...
95. X-Men: From The Ashes by Chris Claremont
Amazon nos cuenta que: A grieving Scott Summers lost his true love Jean Grey, when she killed herself to save the world from the overpowering Phoenix. Now he's met Madeline Pryor, who has an uncanny likeness to his former love...very uncanny!
Meanwhile, Wolverine prepares for his marriage to the Japanese beauty, Mariko; Storm gets a new look and becomes the leader of a unlikely group of mutants; Kitty starts exploring her love for Peter/Colossus; and an enemy seeks help from the X-Men.
Dato curioso... Chris Claremont participo en la creacion de los siguientes personajes: Rogue, Psylocke, Shadowcat, Phoenix, Sabretooth, Mystique, Emma Frost, Jubilee, Rachel Summers, Mister Sinister y Gambit
94. Batman: Haunted Knight by Jeph Loeb
jeje no lo he leido... y amazon (como siempre) nos ilustra: a collection of three Halloween stories involving Batman. In Fears, the Scarecrow returns to Gotham City, and he's turning the lights out for one scary Halloween. In Madness, that arch-villain the Mad Hatter is stealing children, and when he grabs Commissioner Gordon's daughter, it becomes personal. The final story is Ghosts, in which Bruce Wayne is visited by the ghost of his father, who warns him that three spirits will visit him for his own reformation; it's a Halloween version of the Christmas Carol, and Bruce hates seeing someone use his father's image - somebody needs to be taught a lesson, but who?
93. The Adventures of Tony Millionaire's Sock Monkey* by Tony Millionaire
A mischievous sock monkey named Uncle Gabby and his bumbling pal Drinky Crow are the heroes of this funny, unsettling, and oddly endearing collection. Follow Uncle Gabby and Drinky Crow as they try to find a home for a shrunken head, play matchmakers between the bat in the doll's house and the mouse in the basement, hunt salamanders, and try to get to heaven. Delights! Happy endings and random destruction are guaranteed!

I have always been solitary,
but here on the nightward shores of dream,
loneliness washes over me in waves,
lapping and pulling at my spirit...
Sandman # 004 - Preludes and Nocturnes # 3 - A Hope in Hell
Sometimes I feel like Ive seen such a place...

Wizard's Top 100 Paperback: Round 1
Wednesday, June 21, 2006 by Emily
100. Batman: Faces by Matt Wagner
(no lo he leido... y comenzamos maaaaal!... pero la pagina de DC nos dice: When District Attorney Harvey Dent's face was forever deformed by a vial of acid, his mind was also fractured and the maniacal Two-Face was born. In BATMAN: FACES, the demented schizophrenic, enraged by his own isolation and alienation, attempts to create a country of deformed men. Taking over a small Caribbean island and forcing plastic surgeons to perform unholy operations, Two-Face begins to create an army in his own image. But when a simple blackmail investigation leads Batman to discover his former ally's mad scheme, Two-Face's pursuit of power is quickly ended)
99. The Red Star Collected Edition* by Christian Gossett
(United Republics of the Red Star), this critically acclaimed story follows the heroes of the Red Star as they discover their country's true intentions in a war against a smaller neighbor state; a revelation that leads the soldiers on a quest to liberate their nation from its dark legacy of oppression)
98. Batman & Dracula: Red Rain by Doug Moench
(no lo he leido... jeje... pero amazon nos dice: "Batman and the world's most famous vampire--seems like a perfect combination. Except for the fact that Dracula wants to turn Gotham City into his personal kingdom of the undead. Batman is left with no choice but to side with a renegade band of vampires and face Dracula face to face. Kelley Jones brings his creepy, exaggerated Wrightsonesque artwork to this clever story ")
97. Spider-Man Vs. Venom by David Michelinie

by Emily
The Jim Henson Company

I had dream... it seemed so real... I dreamt that I walked in a field... I was alone... the air was cold... and I felt uneasy... at some point I can say that I felt scared...
I felt alone...
I walked... there were many flowers... the aroma was intoxicating... it smelled like magnolias... the sun shined but I still felt cold...
I was barefoot... the soil was soft...
For each step that I took... I felt even more empty... I turned everywhere... I could only see flowers and nothing more... I picked some... and went on my pointless journey...
The farther I went... the less flowers on the field... until there was none... so I treasured what I held in my hands... and went on... still cold... still alone...
For a moment I heard waves... my heart raced... the field was over... and I stood in front of the ocean... it glimmered and the smell of salty water mixed with the magnolia smell was like an embrace when you are 5 years old and scared of the dark... but it only lasted for a moment... the cold breeze showed up... and took it all away... I was alone again holding my magnolia smelling flowers...
And so I needed to move on... but where to go?... Should I swim? Should I go back? Should I walk east? west?... It didnt matter... did it?... so i walked...
Until I saw you... at first I thought it wasnt possible... the closer I got... the more my heart would race... never has it pounded so fast... I started to run... you were sitting down in the sand... staring at the ocean...
by the time I got there I was exhausted... you barelly noticed that I was there...
Hello? - I said... and you turned to see me... with those eyes that I adore... that look that once made me feel so special...
you smiled and asked me to sit next to you... and I did... the sun started to come out...
I was once again stitting with you... watching a sunrise...
I like it here - you said - I want to be here all my life...
you took a deep breath and turned to me - and where do you want to be?
I didnt know what to say... I had nowhere to go... no one waited for me... the field was as empty as how I felt... but at that moment it was different...
you were here...
I smiled as the wind played with your hair... and the waves sang and glittered even more beautifully than before...
You smiled back at me... and took one of the magnolia smelling flowers... You will be fine... breaking the silence... I'll see you when I see you... and walked away...
the waves started to scream in anger... and once again... i was cold... i was stunned... i watched you leave and didnt do a thing... in complete anger... i ran the other way... trying to leave it all behind... the faster i ran the more violent the sea became... the waves started to hit my feet... i ran faster... holding the tears... i ran faster... my heart felt like it was going to explode... but i didnt care... i ran faster... and when i least expected... the waves were crashed on me... and i was dragged into the sea....
the raging sea wouldnt let me go... i tried to swim... but it was no use... i was scared... i was terrified...
and I woke up...
I felt alone...

(and for the record...
