This reminded me of the times when my notebooks were full of doodles that we weird and full of nonsense, I loved those days :)

Obsession

This Oscar Nominated short film by Bill Plympton is pretty odd. You might remember some of his short films from old school MTV (those were the good old days ha ha). Enjoy

Tuesday, February 24, 2009

Wow, it's been a while that this blog exists, and now we have reached 600 posts. Thank you all for reading and giving me a reason to share more stuff, because if I knew no one read it, I wouldn't go on with this. So thank you.

Changing the subject to the idea of what this post was about.

Today, I would like to share a speech by Harvey Milk (yes, there was a movie made and it just won Oscars :P, but this is a real speech from the real person), some of you may not agree with the homosexuality topic, I beg you to look a little farther than judging and just take 1:53 minutes of your time, personally, I think we all need to believe that if one person can make a difference, we have the power to do so as well, and that a little hope can make this world a better place.

Thanks NOTCOT.org for the video.

Creepy Radio

Friday, February 20, 2009

I was about to go to bed, when I remembered that I also wanted to mention another movie, its a weird thriller called Frequency, came out in 2000, directed by Gregory Hobbit, wait, I mean Hoblit (couldn't help myself, my bad), starring Dennis Quaid and James Caviezel.

I know what you might be thinking, but bear with me, I know the name doesn't say much, I won't get into details or I will totally spoil the movie, the main concept is, there is a guy who can talk to his dead father through a radio, THERE, haha, I know I know, its not much, but really, I recommend you watch it, it made me sit on the edge of my seat all through the movie making up theories on where the movie will go. In short its a good movie, be a little open minded, don't over analize (or you'll hate it), sit back, relax, and make up weird theories.

The performances are good to get you tangled in the movie, even with the fact that James Caviezel will always be The Count of Monte Cristo to me haha (which is another good movie, long, but very entertaining, anywho, going back). The director seems really into the cop thriller type movies with big actor names, I haven't seen any of them so I really can't suggest more.

Oh well, I liked it so there :P Enjoy!

Attack of another romantic comedy

Well I just finished watching "Two weeks notice", well, this time it's Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant, yes, all his characters seem the same witty guy who always has the sarcastic or comical comment in the precise moment, but hey, this movie is special, I was going through movie possibilities and could not help myself going down memory lane.

The movie is the type that will make you smile, and at some point it might make you kinda giggle (you know, that half laugh that we all make when something kinda funny happens, yep, that one). It will not impact, you probably will feel a little frustrated with a character, but, I think I can say that its an easygoing film that will take your mind off the world for 101 minutes, and while you're at it, get some chinese take out, a warm blanket and enjoy the film.

Curious fact, this is film was written and directed by Marc Lawrence, he also wrote the Miss Congeniality series.

Blame Ringo

Wednesday, February 18, 2009

Today I stumbled upon a curious band. The music is good, the name was the catch, I'm talking about Blame Ringo, here is the story:

"Originally billed as Goodnight Vienna, the band had to change its name in late 2007 after being threatened with legal action by a Mr Richard Starkey Jr. Apparently "Goodnight Vienna" was the name of Ringo Starr's forth studio album and, although Ringo thoroughly enjoyed the music, he was obligated to any profiteering which resulted from the use of his intellectual property."

It's an interesting way of sticking it to the man...

Here is a video featuring the first single Garble Arch, its about a day in Abbey Road, curious how many people try to portray the famous cover...

Want to know more? check out the band's page and listen to the music ;) enjoy!

Back to basics

Sometimes all we need is an invisible slap in the head to make you realize:

no, you don't know everything
no, you won't remember everything you supposedly learned in school
and no, you can't learn a whole chapter in 2 min (at least I can't).

Practice makes perfect, and this padawan needs patience T_T

I'll get there, even if it makes my brain go mushy, I will beat this

Overthinking...

Monday, February 16, 2009

It's true, you don't need a particular day to say I love you, to share a kiss or a hug, to receive flowers or gifts, still, it feels nice. And it doesn't have to be expensive gifts, fine dinning and rare flowers. To have a small reminder like valentine's day to break your daily habit and share a tender moment with your loved one is something nice, to learn from it and not just make it once a year is priceless ha ha...

Changing the subject drastically yet still stuck in the overthinking part...

Today an MSN contact had his blog address as a nickname, I admit, I was curious, so I went in, gosh, it felt like I was reading his diary, where he poured his heart and soul into, I didn't read much, it felt too personal... I know, the concept of a blog is to share with the world what you feel or think, free speech, I'm not going against it, on the contrary I cheer for it, hey! I have a blog!... but going back to the event... I just felt like I had walked into an open room filled with letters to a lost love, with pictures of special things, memories and felt guilty about it, eventhough the door was open for anyone to walk in, the owner even made a sign for people to notice it, yet I can't help to feel like I shouldn't have read it, like it was not my place to be there.

Weird? yes. Been thinking too much? absolutely. Should get back to my studies? I'd better.

Just wanted to share... has anyone been there before?
