30 days of night

Whats the movie about? "In a sleepy, secluded Alaska town called Barrow, the sun sets and doesn't rise for over thirty consecutive days and nights. From the darkness, across the frozen wasteland, an evil will come that will bring the residents of Barrow to their kness. The only hope for the town is the Sheriff and Deputy, a husband and wife who are torn between their own survival and saving the town they love"

Hellboy II

A little background on what Hellboy is about: "A demon named Anung Un Rama, Hellboy was brought to Earth as an infant by Nazi occultists. He was rescued by allied forces and raised by the United States’ Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense (BPRD). He grew-up to be a large red-skinned demon with a tail, horns, (which he files down to stumps) and a big stone right hand. Although a gruff anti-hero, he shows none of the malevolence thought to be intrinsic to demons and works with other strange creatures in the B.P.R.D. "

So whats the film about? "The mythical world starts a rebellion against humanity in order to rule the Earth, so Hellboy and his team must save the world from the rebellious creatures"

Coraline (yaaay!! a Neil Gaiman Book)

What is it about? Coraline Jones is bored and unhappy in her new home with it's strange neighbors both upstairs and down. Then she discovers a secret door to a better version of her life, a world created by her Other Mother to delight and entertain her and fill her with delicious meals. There's just one "small thing" she'll need to do if she wants to stay in this magical place forever.

Curious Fact: when she is in the "real" world Coraline will be made using computer-generated and imagerystop-motion when she is in the parallel universe.

El Muerto

What is it about? A young man unwittingly marks himself in homage to the old Aztec god of death, Mictlantecuhtli, and dies in a car accident on his way to a Dia de Los Muertos festival. He awakens in the Aztec realm of the dead, Mictlan, to be sacrificed to the old god. Afterward, he is sent back to Earth exactly one year after his death, having supernatural powers. Based on the comic El Muerto - The Aztec Zombie by Javier Hernandez (jaja)

Cast: Wilmer Valderrama (that 70's show), Maria Conchita Alonso and Tony Plana

Neon Genesis Evangelion

What's it about? Basically about a young boy who is enrolled by his father in an elite team of teenage mecha (giant robot) pilots to destroy menacing creatures. The story is way more complicated, but that's how the story starts...

Animation or Live Action? Live Action

Who's in the proyect? ADV Films (who holds the rights to NGE outside Asia and Australia), Gainax (creator of NGE) and Weta (famous the special effects in lord of the rings), Matt Greenfield (writer and Co-founder of ADV).

Release Date: No news yet. But its in production.



Fantastic Four 2 (oh no...)

Whats it about? The Silver Surfer, comes to Earth to prepare it for destruction. As the Silver Surfer races around the globe wreaking havoc, Reed, Sue, Johnny and Ben must unravel the mystery of the Silver Surfer and confront the surprising return of their mortal enemy, Dr. Doom, before all hope is lost.

Director: Tim Story (Fantastic Four, Barbershop)
Cast: Same as the first one, adding Doug Jones as the Silver Surfer (as mentioned before he's in the Hellboy movies)
Release Date: June 15 2007



Ghost Rider

What's it about? Johnny Blaze, a motorcycle stuntman, makes a pact with a dark force, Mephisto, selling his soul to save his adopted father. When the bargain goes sour and his father is not saved, Blaze is transformed into "the spirit of vengeance," Ghost Rider.

Director: Mark Steven Johnson (Daredevil)
Cast: Nicholas Cage (National Treasure, Lord of War), Eva Mendes (Hitch)
Release Date: February 16 2007




Sin City 2

What's it gonna be about? "based around A Dame to Kill For as well as a new story to be written by Frank Miller. The new story centers around the character of Nancy Callahan. It will weave in and out of A Dame to Kill For and will show "A whole new side of Nancy", according to Miller. No other stories have been confirmed at this time, but Frank Miller has also expressed interest in including other Sin City short stories in the film, possibly including Blue Eyes.

In the dark bowels of Sin City, Dwight plans to have his vengeance against the woman who betrayed him, Ava Lord, while Nancy plans her vengeance against the Roarks for Hartigan's death"


Curious Fact: Sin City 3 is also a possibility, titled to Hell and Back (the longest graphic novel in the series) is rumored to be out by 2008

Spiderman 3


What's it gonna be about? A specimen from the moon gives Spider-man new powers and a black suit, while Spider-man must battle the new Green Goblin, Sandman, Venom, and other dangers.

Curious Fact: the film's budget is $300 million, meaning it will be the most expensive film ever made in nominal U.S. dollars, breaking X-Men: The Last Stand's budget record of $210 million.

Stardust (yaaaay... again)

Its about: Based on Neil Gaiman's tale of Tristran Thorn, a young man who lives in the village of Wall, located on the borders of Faerie. In order to win her love, Tristran makes a promise to the girl of his dreams, to retrieve a star that fell in to Faerie. But he is not the only one looking for the star.

Cast: Charlie Cox (Casanova), Claire Danes (Shopgirl, William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet), Michelle Pfeiffer (I am Sam, What lies beneath)

The Dark Knight

What's it gonna be about? There isn't much information about the movie, the only thing that is sure... Batman is going against the Joker

Who's gonna be in it? Christian Bale (Batman Begins, The Machinist, American Psycho), Michael Cane (Batman Begins, The Cider House Rules), Morgan Freeman (Batman Begins, Million Dollar Baby), Gary Oldman (Batman Begins, Sirius Black in the Harry Potter Movies), the rumor is either Paul Battany (The Da Vinci Code, A Beautiful Mind) or Heath Ledger (Brokeback Mountain, Monster's Ball) will portray The Joker (*sigh* this better be good)

X-men Spinoffs

Wolverine: Hugh Jackman (X-Men, Van Helsing) will continue to portray this mutant following is unknown past and its expected to launch sometime in 2007

Magneto: The story will be about "A young Magneto seeks revenge on the Nazis who killed his family while befriending a young Charles Xavier", rumor has it that Sir Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart will star in it with the magic of a special effect that apparently is able to make the two actors whole decades younger (and I'll have to see it to believe it).

me llama la atención la de Evangelion, será interesante ver como logran adaptarlo a live action, será que lo pongan como una peli de acción (tipo spiderman) o como la serie original tendrá tintes psicológicos y de la naturaleza humana...

Tengo que ver Hellboy 1. he visto que hay opiniones muy contradictorias. Muchos dicen que es una de las mejores peliculas de Del Toro y otros todo lo contrario...

pero hasta donde yo se... VENOM no aparecera el la tercera pelicula de SPIDER MAN si no que solo sera EDDIE BROCK...
tambien te falto mencionar a HELL BOY 3 saldra super rapido casi pegada a la otra pelicula...

y los TRANSFORMERS.... ahuevo que el trailer esta super cura y nada mas ni nada menos que LAS TORTUGAS NINJA!!! estas seran animadas pero efectos usper chingones....
