The last broadcast of the year

Well my deareast readers... this is the last broadcast of this year... as many of you know im not from around here... so ill go spend xmas and new years with my family... ergo (as Gilda would say) the last broadcast... it has been a very interesting year... there has been cheer... Angie had her baby which makes me an aunt... there was some dark days... good friends past away... and others just walked away... there was heartbreak and enlightment of a new love... there was an odissey called Espacio Vanguardia... my brother started school here and i finished school (well tecnically)... new friends arrived... some from close by... thanks Daniel for listening to me in Publicidad... and others from a little farther... Emmanuel, Viktor, Carol, Chava and Baz00ka it has been a pleasure meeting and talking to you guys... some friendships bacame stronger... while others just stayed the same...

unfortunately i dont have all night to write all the things in my head... i do want to say a few words to a few people... and i apologyse if i skip anyone... its 3 am and i am a little asleep...

• Ramon aka Pollito: Thank you for making my days brighter... for making me smile everytime i think of this special relationship that we have... for singing to me... for writing... for calling... for visiting... for being there for me... for being who you are... for the little things that you do... for lollypops, apple pie, pictures, stickers, drawings, emails, smiles, Bert, Flash courses, Pink Floyd marathons, and so much more... i know that i will see you soon ;)... remember that you are always in my thoughts and one day we will be able to fly... hiwywh...

• Mario: Damn... la palabra "gracias" queda corta para poder explicar la enorme gratitud que te tengo... fuiste uno de mis mas grandes apoyos en uno de los momentos mas dificiles... me hiciste ver muchas cosas que habia dejado a un lado... y el empujon que necesite para volver a levantarme...
• Chuy: Ha sido un placer ser tu vecina en el CETEA y tu amiga... gracias por las bromas y salvarme del aburrimiento durante clases... por soportarme... por prestarme tu camara... por dar tu opinion de mis dibujos y ser fan de ellos... por los consejos... me senti realizada cuando me dijiste que estoy aprendiendo a identificar tus gustos :) yaaay!
• Ivetth: Son pocas las mujeres que considero mis amigas... tu eres una de ellas... sabes que cuentas con mi apoyo... al igual que se que cuento con el tuyo... me da muchisimo gusto verte con Rodrigo otra vez... gracias amiga... no se me olvida el proyecto pendiente que tenemos... regresando hablamos con el profesor :)

• Beto: Once again... welcome back home human... after almost 8 years of knowing eachother... its amazing how we can still stand eachother... there has been some good times and some bad... the friendship is there and will not go away... and thats what matters... :)

Hola... ya despues de un par de semanas del infierno... me encuentro aqui... de nuevas... bueno... aqui les va un resumen de las cosas que han pasado...

• No pase el CENEVAL del demonio... PEEEERO!... me la parti por lograr subir mi promedio para poder titularme por ese medio... al parecer si la lograre... solo me falta presentar el examen a titulo de Ing. de Calidad (que no he cursado)... mil gracias a Juani que me esta ayudando a estudiar!!!
• No pase el examen de certificacion del CETEA... realmente no me siento mal de ello... ese tipo de examenes se pueden volver a presentar sin problema alguno...
• Ayer comence a leer Fast Food de Eric Scholosser... que me recomendo mi maestro de Etica... es un ensayo sobre que es la comida rapida, que contiene, de donde surgio, que hacen las empresas de comida rapida, etc, etc... lo que llevo es muy bueno... se los recomiendo... lo compre en la Libreria Universitaria... tristemente lo tenian en la seccion de cocina... notece que no se fijan de que es el libro y se fueron con la finta...
• Nos dieron una semana mas de vacaciones en el CETEA!! siiiii podre ir a casitaaaa!!! :D

En fin... por ahorita me ire a leer un rato... ahi luego les cuento como va el libro...

Very well.. here is my counter attack.. Im a fan of Marvel vs Capcom 2... and one of my favorite characters is Jill Valentine (from Resident Evil)... and so the round begins.. FIGHT!

Hey everyone... I have to admit... im a Star Wars fan also... and for that... I found an interesting page that shows you how to know when you are really into Star Wars... here is a small glimpse...

• When you listen for Obi-Wan while attempting to parallel park.
• Whenever you get in trouble, you mutter "I have a bad feeling about this." (Right Franky?)

Ode to my publicity class...

Hoy tuve mi ultima clase de Publicidad... y este post es para el Profe... me voy a poner sentimental...

La verdad.. que este semestre fue toda una experiencia... entre frustraciones y el CENEVAL... la materia que realmente disfrute al maximo fue esta... y a la que me pesaba faltar... aprendi mucho... y lo mejor de todo es que este blog surgio por esta materia... y no morira! asi que no deje de leerlo!!

Profe... realmente fue un placer estar en su clase... gracias por los comerciales... las risas... los sarcasmos... los archivos mentales... los comentarios... las actividades en donde todos renegaban... por bautizarnos alimañas (jajajaja)... su atencion y paciencia (vaya que la tuvo)... lo digo una vez mas... fue la mejor clase del semestre... se que no fui la mas brillante o la mas participativa... pero realmente me intereso...

le prometo que leere a Cortazar y espero que usted lea a Sandman...

No tengo mucho tiempo para bloggear asi este link... son cliches de peliculas... o sea mezcla varias peliculas o situaciones que nada que ver una con otras... algunos son tontos... otro chistosos... el que realmente vale la pena... THE PASSION OF BUDDY CHRIST!! jajajajajaj vean la movie de Dogma... y si nos vamos a esos terrenos... les recomiendo la movie de Clerks, Mall Rats y Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back... aunque les advierto no es alta cinematografia... sino que una mezcla de humor negro, sarcasmo, un toque de geekyness y tienes estas movies que te mantendran entretenido por hora y media...

For all of you that have no clue what a klingon is... i recommend you check out Star Trek: The next generation... and to make it even more geeky... PROGRAMMING KLINGONS!... here are things that are likely to be overheard if you had a Klingon Programmer:

• Defensive programming? Never! Klingon programs are always on the offense. Yes, offensive programming is what we do best.
• Specifications are for the weak and timid!
• Indentation?! - I will show you how to indent when I indent your skull!
• What is this talk of 'release'? Klingons do not make software 'releases'. Our software 'escapes' leaving a bloody trail of designers and quality assurance people in its wake.
• Klingon function calls do not have 'parameters' - they have 'arguments' -- and they ALWAYS WIN THEM.

Second: interesting things that you learn about computers in the movies...

• Word processors never display a cursor.
• You never have to use the spacebar when typing long sentences.

The ultimate guide to unmaintainable code...

Hello everyone!!! And to my programming friends i have a special treat!! How to make a unmaintainable program and torture future generations!! Here is a sneek preview...

• New Uses For Names For Baby: Buy a copy of a baby naming book and you'll never be at a loss for variable names. Fred is a wonderful name, and easy to type.
• Single Letter Variable Names: If you call your variables a, b, c, then it will be impossible to search for instances of them using a simple text editor. If anyone even hints at breaking the tradition honoured since FØRTRAN of using i, j, and k for indexing variables, namely replacing them with ii, jj and kk, warn them about what the Spanish Inquisition did to heretics (NOBODY EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION!! *confused? two words for you my friend... Monty Python*).
• A.C.R.O.N.Y.M.S.: Real men never define acronyms; they understand them genetically.
• Use Plural Forms From Other Languages: Esperanto , Klingon and Hobbitese qualify as languages for these purposes.
• Underscore, a Friend Indeed: Use _ and __ as identifiers.
• Mix Languages: Randomly intersperse two languages (human or computer). If your boss insists you use his language, tell him you can organise your thoughts better in your own language, or, if that does not work, allege linguistic discrimination and threaten to sue your employers for a vast sum.
• Bedazzling Names: Choose variable names with irrelevant emotional connotation. e.g.:
  marypoppins = (superman + starship) / god; This confuses the reader because they have difficulty disassociating the emotional connotations of the words.
• Obscure film references: Use constant names like LancelotsFavouriteColour instead of blue and assign it hex value of $0204FB. Only someone intimately familiar with Monty Python and the Holy Grail would know that Lancelot's favorite color was blue. If a maintenance programmer can't quote entire Monty Python movies from memory, he or she has no business being a programmer.
• Be polite, Never Assert: Avoid the assert() mechanism, because it could turn a three-day debug fest into a ten minute one.
• Use Three Dimensional Arrays: Lots of them. Move data between the arrays in convoluted ways, say, filling the columns in arrayB with the rows from arrayA. Doing it with an offset of 1, for no apparent reason, is a nice touch. Makes the maintenance programmer nervous.

Mientras hacía la práctica estaba escuchando una canción de Buckethead (gracias Emmanuel)... me agrado bastante... se llama For Mom... se las recomiendo... yo sabía de la existencia de Buckethead por que Dave McKean hizo la portada de uno de sus cds (y al parecer hizo un comic) ...

Se han de estar preguntando ¿Quien diablos es Dave McKean? Ah! Mis amigos... este hombre es uno de mis dioses... la primera vez que vi su trabajo fue en un Comic-Con (por si no sabian es una convención anual de comics en San Diego... http://www.comic-con.org) y despues conocí el mágico mundo de Neil Gaiman (Gracias Issac) comenzando con su comic Sandman... McKean hizo las portadas de muchos tomos de ese comic y las ilustraciones de varios libros de Gaiman... hace dos años tuve el placer de conocer a McKean y a Gaiman... fue toda una odisea... pero valió la pena... si quieren ver el trabajo de McKean entren a http://www.mckean-art.co.uk... para ver el trabajo de neil entren a http://www.neilgaiman.com/... en ambas encontraran una liga a la pelicula Mirrormask... Total Failure...

Llevo una buena cantidad de HORAS tratando de terminar esta mendiga practica... me vine a la casa para poder trabajar comodamente... pero me trono en la cara esa desicion... no solo batalle para poder hacer que el vmware funcionara (lo tuve que volver a bajar y registrarme) instalar el linux Mandriva no parecia ser mucho problema (por que ya lo habia instalado 3 veces en la escuela por errores que habia cometido en la instalacion)... todo iba realmente genial hasta que me salio KERNEL PANIC que ni me deja entrar al sistema operativo... sea barbaro!... mejor me pongo a buscar todo lo que tengo que hacer paso a paso para no perder tiempo maniana por que realmente siento que no lograre mucho aqui... deseenme suerte... que realmente la voy a necesitar... argh... ya se me habia olvidado las frustraciones que habia tenido con linux en el CETEA... ah... che linux... cant we just get along?

I hate this...

No solo el curso de XML era un completo aburriemiento y estress... sino que la proxima semana sera sin internet y sin un receso... vamos de mal en peor... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... nos volveremos locos... o de plano nos dormiremos... creo que no nos deberian de hacer ese tipo de cosas... estar encerrados por mas de 6 meses 6 horas al dia... no es muy sano que digamos...

Acabo de presentar un examen de XML y que nuevas... no me fue muy bien... pero ya que mas da... tendre que compensar mas adelante para que no afecte la materia que revalidare con ello...

Quiero irme lejos de aqui... quiero irme de viaje... quiero desconectarme de Mexicali (no se ofendan chicos... no tiene nada que ver con ustedes)... sino que creo que es bueno cambiar el ambiente de vez en cuando... aunque sea temporalmente...

En fin... por ahorita me voy... tengo que comer... y llevar a mi hermano que se ira a Tecate de fin de semana... y ni modo me tuve que quedar a hacer la practica de redes... *sigh*

Generacion 2001 - 2005

Pues aqui estamos... la generación 2001-2005 de Cibernéticos e ICC ... jajaja lo que pasa es que seré la única a graduarse de mi generación (*sniff*) y me tomé una foto con ellos (por que fueron lo suficientemente lindos de adoptarme)... ésta no es la foto oficial...

El CENEVAL del diablo ha dejado una gran ansiedad por saber los resultados... esa cosa definitivamente debe de ser eliminada... me entere que el 5 diciembre (a mas tardar) llegarán los resultados... aunque me recomendaron a que estuviera revisando constantemente en internet... *nervios!*

Regresando a la foto... podrán percatarse que mi cabello esta muy esponjado... ah pues... es una larga historia y bastante triste... pero para no aburrirlos con eso solo dire que me traumó voltear a verme en el espejo y ver que el estilista grita todo feliz "COMO PAULINA RUBIO!!"... queria llorar... me deshice el peinado 15 min antes de la foto... no me arrepiento...

como ya me hartó el blog del msn (http://spaces.msn.com/members/LifeLoveNPersuitDingDong/)... no me da muchas opciones... aparte de que nunca me ha dado un comentario mi maestro de Publicidad por que está complicado el entorno... decidí sacar uno de acá...

por ahorita ando en mi curso de xml... está de flojera (severa)... lo único que me hace sentir mejor es que tengo a mis amigos aquí para sacar curada geeky y a mi pollito :)
