Babasonique Weekend!

Monday, May 26, 2008

Ok, I'm a Babasonicos fan, and couldn't miss out on the show.

They played for a while and it rocked!, I like that they punch up the songs in concerts, that makes the people all hyper. We all sang, and sang, and sang some more.

I liked how the sunset was a nice background, unfortunately my camera couldn't capture the magic. Anywho, the best thing is that, in the end, Mariano (guitarist) threw his guitar pick... guess who got it?

MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE :D

♪ QuerĂa contarte y que me seas todo oidos ♪

I know that it wasn't just a babasonicos concert, but to me they were the main band... here is a very short critique of who I saw:
  • Aeroplanos: Which really didn't appeal to me, except one song, I don't remember the name of the song, they were kinda fast and didn't give anything new.
  • Magnolia Ave: Um... I only listened to one song so I can't say much
  • Annie Dolls: Oh dear God! I really reaaaaaaally did not like them... AT ALL... and when I say AT ALL... I mean that my ears were about to bleed. The main vocals of the band are two girls with high pitched voices, I would say they were... what? 15? It was kinda like young Timbirinche emo style... it's just wrong... in so many levels.
  • Manuel CS: he was cool, at the end of his performance he mixed in some The Doors samples, I liked that a lot, unfortunately there wasn't a lot of people around to enjoy it.
  • Austin TV: They kick ass! I liked them a lot! they get all crazy but in a really kick ass way, I would surely see them again. The vibe is great and highly recommended. Music wise, they are really in sync with each other and give out a magic feeling that not all bands can achieve.
Did someone see VHS or Beta? How was it? I left because it was too cold and I couldn't get my jacket from the car because the mean people of the event wouldn't let you back in once you left the concert T_T you had to buy another ticket... mean people! mean!

Bored... again...

Monday, May 19, 2008

Ok... bored again... here are some news that might be of interest... or... at least curious...

  • There is a possibility that we might get to see a live action Beavis and Butthead movie. Now this was something that I was not expecting. At all. Read More @ MTV Movie Blog.
  • Do you own a DS? Do you like Guitar Hero? Well my friend, this might interest you, on June you will be able to play GH on your DS, how will it work you might ask. Gizmodo has the answer.
  • I cant help but to add some info I found for the upcoming Wall-e movie. First of all, as you may notice EVE (the little white robot Wall-e falls for) has a kinda mac type look, well, that's because it was in part designed by Jonathan Ive one of Apple's Lead Designer. Wanna know more? Gizmodo! I choose you. On another Wall-e note, Disney created a real robot to go around the Disney amusement parks. Check it out, this one was a test.

Wall-E Spotted in LA! from Blink on Vimeo.
  • Rumor has it, that Spider-man 4 and 5 will be filmed simultaneously. Wanna know more? Cinematical has the info.
  • Usually videogames that have to do with a movie, are crap. Well, now is your chance, if you want to laugh a while, check out The wost celebrity renders of all time. Damn, its just wrong, sooooo wrong.
  • Going back to Guitar Hero (not the DS version) the new fad (thanks to Rock Band) is having more than just a guitar. So, Activision said that they would improve it the game dynamics by adding drums and a microphone. Much different? No. Pretty much copy paste. Bad news is that you can't use the guitar hero drums for rockband or viceversa. Sucks. Well I got you up to speed on whats going on, this is the lastest news about the addons. Thanks gizmodo.
  • If you are a Dorian Gray fan, well Prince Caspian (Ben Barnes) will be portraying the egocentric maniac. More on that here. And if you like Paulo Coehlo's Alchemist book well Laurence Fishburne will be directing, producing and starring in it. Check it out here.
  • Ok before I go. I found something disturbing, I wont say more than what it is... Caffeined Chips. Oh God. This is just wrong...

Pixar works in mysterious ways...

Wednesday, May 14, 2008

Once again Pixar has gotten to me, I can't wait for wall-e to come out... too much expectation... I know I won't be disappointed...

I went to see Speed Racer on Monday... it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be... I kinda even enjoyed it... ... *cough cough* ... ... but that's not the point...

When I got to the theater... I saw him...

Couldn't help it... I love the cute little guy...

I've just seen a face

A little late, but happy mum's day...

I saw across the universe this weekend, lovely, I dare say, I like musicals, can't help it... ;P

Well the covers are really well performed, and if you are a Beatles fan, I'm sure you won't be disappointed. I really loved Bono and Joe Cocker's performances, it was a surprise to see them in the film :)

And if you are a hard core Beatles fan, you'll find curious references (leaving aside the songs that are sung :P), I wont be too specific (that way I won't spoil anything). Just look for rooftops, phrases referring to songs that do not appear on the soundtrack, blue meanies, and stuff of a sort. If you want to see more about this check out imdb.

It has some really cool animation sequences, it may not be the best technically speaking, but the idea is really good, especially in the military scene.

But you can learn how to be you in time

I've seen those drawings before... but I really didn't know where they came from... Pon and Zi are they're names... and they were created by Azuzephre... if you want to check out more drawings go here... for now I shall share my favorites :D

I must confess that more than one made me feel all emo... haha... and think of a very special someone, *cough cough* you know who you are... i miss you

I don't have much to say right now, I'm really happy, and in honor of my happiness and that this band will be in town pretty soon... Ladies and Gentlemen... Los Concorde! enjoy...

Bored...

Tuesday, May 06, 2008

Ok so I'm here bored out of my skull and no work... so... I shall share interesting stuff I found online...
  • If you are planning on crossing the border to the states or getting on a plane, with your computer, beware, now the border agents can check out your contents without a warrant and even if you aren't doing anything illegal. Full note, click here. (thanks gizmodo)
  • Is your dream making a movie? Well this might interest you, Spike Lee and Nokia are teaming up and you are invited to participate, all you need is your cellphone and a kick ass idea... Wanna know more? here is the whole info. (again thanks gizmodo)
  • Here is some geeky pixel art (you've guessed it, <3>

  • And for something different (not gizmodo) a few wulffmorgenthaler (click on the image to see):

  • Well in other news, Dreamworks acquired the right to make a Ghost in the Shell movie (thanks Slashdot), while on the other hand, kudos to Blizzard who refused to sell the rights to World of Warcraft to Uwe Boll, on a personal note, that man should have a restraining order to stay away from any type of film making equipment or crew (Slashdot strikes again) . And on a more happy note, Guillermo del Toro (yeah, the guy who brought you the Hellboy movies and Pan's Laberinth) shall have the honor of making The Hobbit (Slashdot). And just in, there shall be a Street Fighter movie in 2009, dosen't seem to cool though, so dont get your hopes up, wait, what am i saying? it's not like the last one was fun, or even the mortal kombat one, duuuuuude, ok, forget what I just said, you know what to expect (thanks Wired).
  • On the music side of this post, Metallica plans on releasing a "free" album, just like Radiohead & NIN, and why is it "free"? well if you liked it, you pay what you want or not :D. (Slashdot). Speaking of Radiohead they had an interview on they're thoughts about the whole "freebie" thing, wanna know what Yorke says? and something about Coldplay's new single read here @ Gizmodo
  • And for the enviromentally friendly side of the post. Fujitsu announced that they created a 0 power using in stand by mode monitor, interested? go here (with love, Gizmodo)
Ok, thats enough for one day... Cya around...

Live from the Happiest Place on Earth (or so would Crusty say)

Sunday, May 04, 2008

Well I'm transmitting live from Tijuana, it's been really nice to see friendly faces again.

Things here are different, I've been gone for almost a year, and things changed. I'm glad I got to see everyone and talk to them, and find out what they're new lives are like.

I've been at peace here, well until someone asks, how are you feeling? or have you gotten a call or message?, and I have to smile and say something, those are my flashbacks to reality, I know they mean no harm, they're just concerned.

Leaving a side nostalgic stuff, I discovered new music here. Robi Draco Rosa to be precise, his style is pop, I liked it a lot, I'll share one of my favorite songs so far.

Well I should go for now, c ya.

This is such a weekend

Friday, May 02, 2008

Well... I heard that I can be such a child sometimes... I hate the idea...

This weekend I'm going to see Emma, Joel and Agus... I miss those guys... It's been so long since I've been to Tijuana and hanged out with them and remember the good ol' high school days...

Also this weekend shall be Vaca's birthday... Mooooo mooo moooooooo (translation: happy birthday Vaca).

I've been watching a lot of movies lately... I saw bridget jones 1... 2... and Hot Fuss (from the guy who made Shawn of the Dead, a must see, highly recommended)... in which curiously I just found out that an actor stars in all of the movies... and I didn't notice him.. Jim Broadbent... stars as Bridget's dad and also as Inspector Frank Butterman... curious... what I did notice though... he played Harold Ziddler in Moulin Rouge... *sigh* im such a geek...

The other day... in my search to stay busy and sane... I went to 1800 cafe... I love the Mango Iced Tea <3 highly recommended in this terrible weather... anywho... I took some photos... I miss my camera... my plan shall be to buy a new one (hopefully a Cannon Rebel Xti) and go back to putting up pictures in Deviant... and hey... maybe if I'm lucky I could sell them there... would someone be interested?

Here are the best pics...

I was told that these are orchids

I don't know the technical name, my mom calls this plant 5 sisters.

A lovely bench in a lovely afternoon

And surprise! More plants...

Before I go... I leave this song... it's not the greatest... I just love how the chorus sounds... have a great weekend!
